Henry grew up in Northern California. He started painting real and imagined landscapes when he was a teenager. He studied art at the California College of Arts & Crafts & at Diablo Valley College & Santa Rosa Junior College. As a painter however he is largely self taught. He's lived with his wife & children in Sonoma County for many years. Henry loves to hike and explore California's wildlands particularly Sonoma, Marin, Contra Costa and the Sierra Nevada. Lately he's fallen in love with Death Valley. The natural world - oak woodlands, golden hills, ridgelines marching to the sea, the granite and volcanic mountains and deserts - is what thrills him and so he paints it. It's a beautiful world.
